About Me!
Meet the Teacher
Hello! My name is Nathan Meyers, and I am a low brass teacher and performer in the Pittsburgh area. Originally from Squirrel Hill, I'm glad to be back home after many years away! After high school, I moved to Denton, Texas to persue degrees in Music Education and Euphonium Performance from the prestigious University of North Texas. While there I took advantage of many musical opportunities, performing regularly on both Euphonium and Trombone in concert and marching bands, jazz groups, chamber ensembles, and brass bands, assisting local high school marching bands, and maintaining a low brass private lesson studio. After graduation, I moved to Michigan to work for the Interlochen Center for the Arts, where working with students every single day helped me to hone my skills. In 2021 I returned to Pittsburgh for my Master's of Music in Euphonium Performance, which I completed in Spring of 2023. Now I fill my time as a private lesson instructor, working with local marching bands, and regularly performing with the River City Brass. I have been lucky to have great teachers in my life such as Dr. James Gourlay, Dr. Brian L. Bowman, and Dr. David Childs, and I am so excited to pass along their teachings to the next group of young musicians!
